Common Checks

Location is not appearing

Open iOS Settings, find Known Ground, and confirm Location access is enabled. Trip Coverage and walk recording work best when the app has the location permission it requests during setup.

Photos are missing from a trip

Confirm Photos access is enabled for Known Ground. Photos also need date or location information to appear in the most useful trip and map contexts.

Apple Watch routes are missing

Confirm Health permissions are enabled for Known Ground on iPhone and Apple Watch. Workout routes may take a short time to sync from Apple Health.

Spotlight results do not open the expected memory

Open Known Ground, go to My Ground settings, and refresh Search & Spotlight memories. If the result still opens the wrong place or photo, send a support note.

iCloud sync needs attention

Check that you are signed into iCloud on the device and that iCloud Drive is available. Known Ground can continue using local data while iCloud catches up.

Sending Useful Feedback

If possible, include:

  • Your device model and iOS version.
  • What you expected to happen.
  • What actually happened.
  • Whether the issue happens every time or only sometimes.

Please avoid sending private note text, exact home or work addresses, or photos unless they are necessary for the support request.

Diagnostics

Known Ground includes privacy-safe diagnostics and QA packet exports in My Ground settings. Only share these exports if you choose to. They are designed to help troubleshoot without including raw private memory content.
